Patricia Zhou

Dancer, Choreographer & Filmmaker

Patricia Zhou is a multidisciplinary artist bridging the worlds of contemporary performance, movement and film.

Originally trained in ballet, Zhou has performed with the Royal Ballet in London, Staatsballett-Berlin and BenjaminMillepied’s L.A. Dance Project.

After only four years formal training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C., she was awarded gold and silver medals at the 2010 Beijing International Invitational Ballet Competition and at the Youth American Grand Prix Competition in Paris whilst also being a prizewinner at the Prix de Lausanne and later featuring on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’, becoming the first solo performer to dance on the show.

Her practice continues to evolve beyond traditional performance to encompass choreography, direction and moving image.

Her dance films have been screened at film festivals internationally with “Orange Tree” receiving multiple awards including Best Dance Film at the San Francisco, Hong Kong and Berlin Indie Film Festivals.

In 2023, Zhou made her West End debut in Dr.Semmelweis and created the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the recent McOnie Company jazz remake of The Nutcracker. In 2026, she choreographed a bespoke performance for the reopening of Belmond’s Villa San Michele, inspired by the Florentine Renaissance and the bountiful nature surrounding the property.

This year marks her return to the stage, following a two year hiatus, as part of the brand new production of Cats the Musical at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and on the subsequent UK and Dublin tour.
